(no subject)

I'm a 1/3 of the way through Perdido Street Station and my once high interest level is rapidly waning.  Is this a temporary lull, or are my feelings 1/3 of the way through predictive of my feelings at the end?

Peter Watts is one of my favorite authors in the whole world, and he hasn't written anything since i discovered him in 2007 and read his 4 book back catalog.  So you can imagine the mix of emotions I experienced when I discovered that he was releasing something new, and it was a novelization of a video game.  But I just read a recent short story of his and... well, apparently I need to read Crysis 2: the novel.  I may even need to buy Crysis 2, since I'm not sure that comes under the library's mission.
